Vernon Eugene Smith Jr., 64, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away on September 4, 2023, at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 11, 1956, in Steubenville, Ohio. A son of the late Vernon and Elizabeth (Rupert) Smith.

In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his sister, Leisa Smith; and his nephew, Daniel Gilcrest.

Vernon is survived by his two sons, Vernon M. Smith and Christopher Smith; his granddaughter, Chloe Smith; his sisters, Janet (Larry) Stevens, Carol (Dana) Gilcrest, and Kathy Smith; he also has several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He will be greatly missed.

Private services will be at the discretion of the family at a later date.
