Gerald “Wayne” Barcalow, 71, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.
He was born May 5, 1949 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Gerald Barcalow and Dolores (Davidson) Barcalow.
He graduated from Mingo High School in 1967 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-1972. He was a long-time member of the Sherwood Archery Club, studied animal science at the Ohio State University, and was quite the amateur photographer. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates, and Buckeye fan. He worked as a delivery salesman for 7UP and a chrome plater for Chrome Deposit Corporation.
Wayne was a Christian by faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; infant son, Stephen; and brothers, Aaron Barcalow and Mark Waltz.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debra (Cline) Barcalow; sons, Shaun of Steubenville and Jared (Hallie) of Bloomingdale and cherished granddaughters, Cora, Maryn, and Jolene; his mother, Dee of Mingo Jct., OH; brothers, Keith (Sharon) of Mingo Jct., OH, Rod (Renee) of Pickerington, OH, Jay (Leighanna) of Riverview, FL; an aunt, many cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and so many lifelong friends.
The family wishes to express particular appreciation for Dr. Rahman and also to Southern Care Hospice’s Chalisa and Susan.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Monday from 5-7 PM.
